Pre-surgical physical therapy is REQUIRED for the following knee procedures:
ACL reconstruction
Knee arthroscopy – Menisectomy
Knee Arthroscopy – Meniscal Repair
Patellar Femoral Reconstruction / Realignment
AMZ Fulkerson
Knee Arthroscopy – Lateral Release
Carticel Implantation
Allograft OATS
Patellar Tendon / Quadriceps Repair
Pre-surgical physical therapy is NOT REQUIRED for shoulder procedures
Pre-surgical physical therapy will include:
Fitting for crutches and appropriate bracing (TROM) if needed for your procedure.
Home exercise instruction
These exercise should be completed the day of your procedure unless otherwise directed by the Physician or Physician Assistants.
Post-surgical physical therapy is REQUIRED.
Time and duration of physical therapy is dependent on the procedure, the protocol (click on the procedure above for protocol link) and your personal progress through the rehabilitation.
Post-Surgical Therapy should begin the following day for the listed knee and shoulder procedures:
